Objectives

The client had moved from a large home to an 1800 sqft. condominium built in the 70's. The original space was painted a drab green and lacked adequate storage space for the client's art and book collection. The client desired the rooms to be brightened and opened up, with the addition of office, storage and display space.

Solutions

Many areas of the condominium were customized to the client's needs. A wall in the kitchen was removed, opening the space to the living room and window views. Natural pink birch and granite counter tops were used for a dressy, yet practical space.

Office and storage space was created by extending the birch cabinetry from the kitchen. The custom cabinetry houses a broom closet, pantry, two desks areas, six file drawers and a hidden TV. A bar area for entertaining is also included.

The office area is further tied to the living room by including a lighted display cabinet within the office cabinetry. Additional built in cabinetry at the far end of the living room houses the client's book collection.
