Objectives

This home in Poway is situated on a large, wooded lot. The clients' desired an extensive addition to extend living space to the home while keeping the existing character which blends with the natural environment.

Solutions

Working in collaboration with Sandra Wagenaar for interior design, a massive remodeling of the interior and exterior of the home was completed. Architecture and structural design services were provided.

The kitchen's exterior walls were pushed out to extend the size of the kitchen and open it up to views. The existing deck was extended. Doors and windows were added to further promote the landscape views from within the home.

The existing master bedroom was converted to an office and a new master bedroom suite was created. The master bath, designed by Sandra, received the ASID Design Excellence award (see interior design).

The new exterior walls where then matched to the existing exterior archtitecture. From inside and out, the entire remodel is integrated into the original home as if it had always been there.
